Toyota recalls 1.7 million vehicles globally because of ‘fuel leak’

Japanese car manufacturer Toyota recalls nearly 1.7 million vehicles worldwide over concerns about a possible fuel leakage.
About 1.2 million models Toyota recalls in Japan and 421,000 overseas, including 15,500 Avensis and 3,100 Lexus models in the UK.
The BBC’s Roland Buerk says the majority of cars affected are in Japan

Egypt has banned street protests, one day after thousands of people joined a “day of revolt” against the government of President Hosni Mubarak.
Public gatherings, protests and marches are all now prohibited, the country’s official news agency reports.
Anyone joining in unauthorised action will be detained and prosecuted, the interior ministry said.
Three people died during the nationwide web-inspired protests, which were broken up with tear gas overnight.
Police also used water cannon as they forced protesters from Tahrir Square, a symbolic city centre location in the heart of Cairo.
Protesters had been inspired by the recent uprising in Tunisia, vowing to stay until the government fell.

A well prepared response should always do the job.
This appears to be true for Taylor Swift’s response to the interruption of Kanye West during her acceptance speech of last year’s MTV awards. Her song, You’re still an Innocent, which she performed during this year’s event seems to entirely talk about the immaturity of West’s behavior. The song had many people thinking that it made a buzz in the internet right after the awards night.
West performed a song “I make her say” and mentioned he was born in 88 and that he was “old enough”. That is quite ironic because Swift’s song described him as “innocent”. And when he was thought to claim that he was “born in 88”, people started asking the question about his real age. Well, he exactly does not look like 21. Kanye West was born on June 8, 1977 and that should make him 33. However, it might be good to note that during awards night that he made the interruption, he was 32. Swift’s performance of the song included the line “32, and still growin’ up now”. It might be safe to think that Swift had already started to gather the lyrics to this song right after West interrupted her and waited until the next awards night to publicize it.
Or West could have meant Swift when he mentioned about being born in 88. In this case, he should be right by saying “born in 88.. old enough” because the response of Swift indeed is a mature thing to do. Although, the song having been written before the performance of Swift’s supposed “forgiveness”, it couldn’t have really talked about Swift. Young and immature ladies would have been publicly wailing their embarrassment in front of the press people. But Swift had, the lady that she is, never snapped at the rapper but she didn’t. Instead, she composed herself with a song for a whole one year and waited for the right timing to have her response.
That idea gave her another boost of popularity today as people who watched the awards night marveled at the young lady who made a rhetoric response with melody. If West still think Beyonce deserved the award, he should be thinking twice now.

What is the big fuss about Burmese classic? What could have led more than 6500 hits in an hour because the site featured a story on Burmese classic?
The site offers music and videos for downloads and other interesting things which are not foreign to a person exploring the internet. As one comment puts it, it was not just the popularity of the group but it was more on how the site and the Free Myanmar VCD website had to hurl insults at each other for some obvious wrongdoings that many of internet users know about.
It started when Burmese classic uploaded a copyrighted video on its site and was shut down for copyright issues. The online battle, they say, is a part of history. Now this issue has become a real training ground for those new to internet security.
It is not a question of the ability and artistry of Myanmar as a people but when we talk about ownership, when it comes to the internet, no one can seem to really draw a straight line between citing and distributing. As they say, you can never really protect illegal materials legally.
One comment of this issue stated that Burmese classic had been trying to resolve the issue in a rather dirty way. How dirty? You can only imagine; what with the increasing ways people can devise a turn around with anything online. Take youtube for example. You try to access a movie and sometimes you will get an error but there are a lot of good movies you can immediately watch and sometimes even download the files.
The real problem was actually pointed to the fact that Burmese Classic did not implement any prevention whatsoever or perhaps even just a hot link protection. Many of the new Cyber Security Groups have found this to be such an excellent case for deeper discussion that it has then became sensationalized. More and more hits have been recorded in different search engines as many people look into the issue and who did what in the battle of reasons.
But then again, perhaps it could just only boil down to responsible usage of an easily available resource – the internet.
Wild Wild West

Cowboys have always formed the image for the wild wild west. Pointed hats, rugged boots, strapped guns and horses depict the picture. Gun fights and duels, wild rides and sexy ladies cannot be missed out even in the oldest of western movies.
In 1999, Will Smith, Kevin Kline and Salma Hayek starred in a movie that revolved around Smith and Kline as a team that tasked to solve a mysterious killing. The movie was set on a day in the wild wild west. It generally became one of the most unpopular movies of the time. Not only was it a poor adaptation of the very popular TV series of the same title but, as many who knew about the movie said, it just lack the substance to be remembered. Smith’s portrayal of a post-civil war hero was not a very good come on for the audience.
One comment of the movie was that it was a comedy dead zone. Scenes simply came and flopped before disappointed audience of the time.
A good movie has to get that thing which will make the audience remember it despite time. Although the theme song performed by Will Smith became popular, being remixed this year, it might not also be a good idea to have another shot at a big screen version of the TV series.
Will Smith’s rendition of the movie theme song however had gained more popularity than the movie. It took the actor higher in his level as a singer then and with the remix of 2010 which is also being heard on the airwaves.
Even Desperate Housewives included the wild wild west theme in one of their episodes which created a remembrance of the movie with their own version of the titillating scenes.
No one can really say that a bad movie can only get worse. In the case of this one, the actors, even when they appeared to have been left out to dry under the sun, had been making an upstream direction of their career ever since. For one, Salma Hayek had been seen in more popular movies ever since. Although her performance in Fools Rush In will never be forgotten, she will also be seen as the sexy lady in the wild wild west.
Operation Dark Heart

The world generally stalled one day in September 11, 2001 as people around the globe were glued to their TV sets watching the horrible news on the attack made on what was perceived to be the safest place in the world – USA.
Recently, the US Department of Defense was said to have tried to block the release of a Operation Dark Heart book written by Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, Operation Dark Heart. A book which was supposed to detail the accounts of the author’s mission to Afghanistan where he was a part of a group who called themselves the Jedi Knights. In this operation, it was reported that the future 9/11 attackers were identified. Shaffer recounted in his book how a supposed legitimate operation to block insurgency was later converted into a mission just watching it grow by the bureaucracy fronting the talks on National Security.
The Department of Defense had tried to buy the more than 10,000 copies of the book from its publisher, St. Martin’s Press, in order to keep it from being circulated. The agency was said to have demanded that references to a meeting between the author and the head of the 9/11 commission, Philip Zelikow, be removed. There was however, no mention of this meeting in the final report of the commission. Pentagon was said to issue permits on succeeding versions of the book “as long as it complies with US government requests”. However, with regards to the copies already printed, Shaffer was not altogether happy about it being burned and destroyed for having “issued” that the agency is “very concerned with”.
Although a lot of printed books is now sitting in wait inside the publisher’s warehouses, some versions have already been sent to several media outlets for review. These have earned spectacular comments from media people which have also resulted to the growing public anticipation for the book’s release.
A new version, compliant to the government requests, is now being prepared by the publisher and should be printed any time soon.
When asked to comment about it, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer said,“While I do not agree with the edits in many ways, the DoD redactions enhance the reader’s understanding by drawing attention to the flawed results created by a disorganized and heavy handed military intelligence bureaucracy.”
